So this been happening for a couple of months now, I get email notifications that my device (Macbook Pro) has "re-appeared online" when I never got an email that it had disappeared in the first place.
I seem to receive that email every 10 to 15 days on average.
It just did it again which prompted me to write this post.
This time I jumped on the portal and checked out the activity logs. All I could see are the very recent events (a couple of minutes ago). One of the events was that the Macbook had stopped charging which reminded me that I did indeed unplug the laptop and received the email that the device re-appeared online right after. Almost like that's the thing that triggered Prey connecting back to the servers. Could also be a complete red herring! Only mentioning it in case that helps
I keep plugging/unplugging the laptop every day though. So not sure why Prey would have believed my device wasn't online in the first place, and how it could have awoken it by unplugging the device.
I've just installed the latest software version in case it helps. I should have checked which version I was on before doing so... Pretty sure I had updated last when we received that email a couple of months about how MacOS Sierra had broken Prey.
Here are my device details:
Apple MacBook, OS X 10.12.6
Happy to provide more details if necessary.
