or is McAfee giving a false positive? McAfee quarantined it and claims JTI/Suspect.196612l02e8c50ed1e9 is the problem… Anyone else seeing this?

This is a false positive. It happens at times, specially with paranoid antivirus software. Prey does not contain malware and in fact, the Prey clients you install into your devices are free software. You can find all the code here: https://github.com/prey
