Part of Prey not working Received email that auto-update failed on one of my laptops. Suggested fix: reinstall Prey manually and register again.
Following successful uninst and re-inst of latest v1.7.5 (as Admin, of course), Prey did not recognize my credentials.
Could you please describe the problem?
The confi routine post re-install failed to recognize my account credentials despite being able to log in to panel.preyproject.com via web browser with the same credentials, from the same laptop that I just re-installed Prey on.
Initially, I thought that Prey didn't recognize my laptop as the same device already registered in my account, so I removed it from the list of protected devices.
Still no success getting Prey Confi to recognize my credentials.
I then used the "forgot password" link from the "prey config gui -f" command (executed as Admin) to reset my Prey account password.
This new password then worked with the prey confi routine.
Hope you'll be able to fix this and similar issues in the future.
