I don’t really need any of the features of the paid plans, but given the current sale going on figured it would be a good opportunity to send some money your way anyway and subscribed for a year. Not wanting this to re-bill I then clicked ‘cancel subscription’, but that then immediately removed the plan. Is there no way to subscribe without automated re-billing?

That’s not possible at the moment. We always notify upcoming renewals, though, so they shouldn’t come as a surprise.
For now I can either re-enable your subscription, or refund your payment. Please let me know what option would be best for you.
