WiFi triangulation

Hi,

the position of my notebook computers is indicated by prey in the middle between the ISP headquarters and the real position. The cable internet ISP (unitymedia) have their headquarters in Cologne (Köln) some 50 km away.

Unlike prey, Google maps finds the real position accurately!

Can someone fix the problem?

Regards,
Ralf

Hi @Ralf_Lehmann,

To get the location, the prey client uses the information of the nearest wifi networks. I’ve noticed that with some languages the information can’t be obtained correctly so I’m reviewing the issue right now.

I’d be really useful if you can run this command on your command prompt: netsh wlan show all and send me the response to javo@preyhq.com so I can review it please.

Hope you can help me on this
Regards,
Javo
