Hi all. I first want to say that I’m really thankful for your service. I recently lost my Macbook Pro, and while it had already been safely returned to a lost and found, Prey was able to ping the laptop and let me know that it was still around the area I left it. It was a great experience.
I used the Prey app on my Pixel XL (Android 9). One frustration was that the app needed to load every time I wanted to open it to check my laptop’s last reported location. I was also surprised that it didn’t have some sort of persistent notification when the device was marked lost. Being that finding the device was my top priority for the moment, I wouldn’t mind if the app had a no-sleep mode (I realize this probably means toggling battery optimization) as well as a top-level notification to get back into the app.
I hope that this improves the experience next time I have to use Prey!
