No photos with reports

Hi team
Long time Prey user.

I’m currently using a Pixel 3 device, and found that photos are not included with reports when device is set to missing. Should photos always be included, or does it require a particular action to trigger? Is there a bug or is it a problem with Pixel/android devices?

All setup with correct permissions etc (as per Recommended Settings for Mobile Devices)

Can someone kindly help?

Hi there,

The newer versions of Android prevent apps from accessing your camera if the device’s screen is turned off. This is expected when that happens. If the report triggers when someone is using the unit, then you’ll get pictures.

Older versions of Android allow apps to do whatever they want. Google didn’t like that so they changed the operating system’s policies.
