Hi folks, looking for some community support since I’m running Mint 20; it’s an Ubuntu 20.04 derivative, so I’m optimistic, and Prey was working great on my old laptop (originally Mint 19, upgraded to Mint 20).
I’ve got Prey installed, and linked to my account. I’ve also run prey activate after reading some of the threads here. Everything is looking good, there’s nothing in Prey’s log in the past four days. I keep getting emails telling me the machine hasn’t checked in, and if I visit the website, it can’t get a location for the machine. Previous machine, everything works great.
The installation might have failed at a post-install step, I’m not sure (I can’t find a prey.service anywhere, assuming there’s supposed to be one); attempting to run the new Prey panel does nothing:

Running the same command with --debug still doesn’t display a GUI, but it does contact the servers and provide a location properly!
