Shield OFF Button (shut off lock) doesn't work

  • Part of Prey not working (Prey account, mobile app, a specific action or module, reports): Shield Off Button (shut off lock)

Could you please describe the problem?

Even with the Shield Off Button setting on and a PIN set, I am able to shut my phone off, while it’s both locked and unlocked, without Prey asking me for my PIN. Also, this is while the “Prey Protected” notification is always in my notification list.

And finally, please attach a screenshot if available (you can drag and drop images)

Is there anyone from Prey even responding to these issues anymore?

I have the same problem. It doesn’t work on my device either. It’s a HUAWEI Mate 10 Pro…!

Hi @Jazzyminn, I’m very sorry for the delay, unfortunately the lock for the power button is not available for Android 9, the main reason is a restriction of the operating system (ANDROID).
