SOLVED - Cannot install 1.9.2x64 on Win10 - Help!

I’ve got trouble with my laptop Prey installation. The Prey folder is there in C:\Windows and looks OK (the “versions” folder contains 1.9.1 and 1.9.2.) My system does NOT show any service called Cron, Execution* or the server-side Javascript one, and node.exe is NOT running. I’ll paste the installer’s logfile below. HELP!

Prey support was right on target today, they emailed me earlier this morning and pointed me to this Microsoft fixit tool:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/windows-fix-problems-that-block-programs-being-installed-or-removed

I had to run this tool (which took a surprisingly long time) then manually rename the existing Prey folder, after which the Prey installer ran successfully.

THANKS AGAIN, PREY SUPPORT!
