Wrong location reported for Windows laptop

Hi, I’m new to the Prey Project. I have the client installed on two Windows 10 laptops (XPS13 and Asus Vivobook). Both are running fully updated Windows 10 Pro (10.0.19043) with the 1.9.13 Prey client.

One laptop (at home) reports a reasonably accurate location - within 40 meters or so, however the other laptop is at my daughter’s college and it quite consistently reports the location as about 5+ miles from where the laptop actually is. This location does not appear to be at some remote network POP but in the middle of an unpopulated field.

Setting it as lost shows all the correctly discovered wi-fi networks with the location again being many miles away.

So, unless I can figure out what’s happening this is of somewhat limited use for being able to track the laptop in case it’s stolen.

Any and all ideas, hints, tips and revelations are greatly appreciated!
